Friend, i am trying to convert a older module to RN and have everything ok except for the captcha image. It just will not show. What is the correct code for the captcha to show. It is the NSN Theme System. I am porting it to RN and adding the points mod edits to it. Do not know why but i am stuck on adding points to everything.

I would look at the Feedback module for an example
php Code:
/*****[BEGIN]******************************************

[ Base: GFX Code v1.0.0 ]
******************************************************/
global $modGFXChk;
echo security_code($modGFXChk[$module_name], 'stacked');
/*****[END]********************************************
[ Base: GFX Code v1.0.0 ]
******************************************************/

Note that this method requires the use of the
$modGFXChk
array in rnconfig.php - which would need to be edited to include your module. You may be able to use a basic setting like
security_code(array(2,4,5,7), 'stacked');
but it will not be able to be turned off by the end user. I haven't had a need to add the captcha myself, so you will need to do some experimenting..

And this is the section that processes the captcha from Feedback. You probably can't use this verbatim, but a good place to start.
php Code:
/*****[BEGIN]******************************************

[ Base: GFX Code v1.0.0 ]
******************************************************/
global $modGFXChk;
if (isset($_POST['gfx_check'])) $gfx_check = $_POST['gfx_check']; else $gfx_check = '';
if (!security_code_check($gfx_check, $modGFXChk[$module_name])) {
$sec_err = '<span class="option thick italic">' . _SECCODEINCOR . '</span><br />';
$send = $FB_NO;
}
/*****[END]********************************************
[ Base: GFX Code v1.0.0 ]
******************************************************/

Thanks friend, you were right not working verbatim but a great start that led me down the right road.

I may not be the best to help, but for testing purposes make sure you have the settings configured that it is used for the level your logging in with. I only say that because of tweaking the settings on site i had setup a long time ago.

It is in your config.php file
Quote // $gfx_chk: Controls the graphic security code on every login screen (requires
// the GD extension with FreeType support):
// 0: No check
// 1: Administrators login only
// 2: Users login only
// 3: New users registration only
// 4: Both, users login and new users registration only
// 5: Administrators and users login only
// 6: Administrators and new users registration only
// 7: Everywhere on all login options (Admins and Users)
// NOTE: if you are unsure what to set it to, just leave it at the
// default value of '7' for the highest security level.

because i was always logging in as admin and i had it set for 3 which is new users only then when i wanted to check the captcha i really couldnt because it wouldnt need to show me. I had to either set it back to 7 and you always had to use it when you login...

which reminds me that i need to go find the code again that only lets you stay idle for up to an hour and then it would log you off, been seeing one of my admins I have been teaching staying connected all the time and never logging off .....

Finally got it rolling, was a module that was several years old and thought about just adding a points access level and deleting the captcha all together from that module but when i was watching the football game it just popped into my head clear as day what i needed to do. Was a good night, The Ravens won and i had gottent the captcha fixed.
